Meditation: The Root Chakra by Sylph Moon

Affirmation For Your Root Chakra

Before beginning this affirmation listen to the words NEXT. You have the right to a good life, if you choose to do so.  To start to heal your Root Chakra, start by making choices for yourself based on creativity, the promise of growth in maturity and spiritual.

This next part is from : The Book of Chakras by Ambika Wauters                                             I take no credit for the affirmation.

 I live from my integrity

I love from my heart

I am connected to life in all its glory

I know who I am and make choices based on what I know to be right for me

I affirm my right to the life I choose

I confirm my right to belong and be apart of something greater than myself

I know I am truly good

I live from the depths of my soul longing to express itself in the world

I stand for justice, truth, and love

I am supported in life through all my choices to do good and share the light of love

my body supports me in living a creative and happy life

I am open to the spirit of life, which carries me beyond my original limits to a higher, more creative space

I am thankful for all opportunities for growth and development that have come my way

I am grateful for the challenges that have taught me who I truly am.

I love life

Solving Your Unbalanced Root Chakra

There is an a thousand plus ways to help re-balance your Root Chakra. The five senses are well known in researchers who study meditation and health. To re-balance your Root Chakra today you’ll learn by using sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.

  • Touch (physical):
    • Excerise
      • Walking, yoga
    • Incorporate root vegetables.
      • We do this because root vegetables are right from the earth its self.

***Notes:  The Root Chakra is all about foundation, your beginning, your ROOT.  With that said, think of your ancestors. Who are they? What do they believe in? Where do you come from?

Spiritual note for those of us who are pagan a grounding ritual is a great boost and key part of balancing. (Look for the grounding ritual post)

If you have any questions or would like to add to any of these please feel free to!

The Root Chakra Problems

In order not to spend a century on describing ALL the problems it has been broken into three parts, physical, mental, and spiritual. Keep in mind that not all diseases or illnesses are caused by Root Chakra unbalance.  Usually when out Chakra is out of line we will see signs over a small period of time. (Couple days-couple weeks)

  •   Physical:
    • Location: Base of the spine
    • Kidney issues
      • Kidney stones
      • Kidney infections
    • Leg circulation problems
    • Lower back pain
    • Reproduction or over sexual activity
    • Anxiety over money, family, self issues
  • Emotional:
    • Anger
    • Jealousy
    • Over anxious
    • Lack of focus
    • co-dependency (short term not life long)
    • Abandonment issues
  • Spiritual:
    • Not knowing what you believe in
      • “Following” faiths that are your friends paths
      • Several faiths ^^^
    • Not feeling complete in your spirit

***Added notes:

  • Usual causes of long term unbalance of the Root Chakra are:
    • Childhood trauma
    • fear
    • insecurity of who you are as a person

Now that have seen some signs of an unbalanced Root Chakra stay tuned for the post to help solve those and turn that Chakra right side up!

Welcome To The Chakras

A basic understanding–definition of the Chakras: The 7 Chakras are the human energy system which act like conductors through out the body, physically, mentally and spiritually.

What I love about Chakras is there is an infinity amount of information and wisdom through Chakras. This 7 month series (once a month) is going to take you onto a ride into the world of Chakras by showing you how every day to day basis is surrounded by your Chakras and how to keep them balanced. In order to successfully do this for age ranges of 13 and up, it will be broken down into basic problems, how to solve them, a affirmation and a meditation. There will also be some little notes or “tricks” that are note worthy to jot down.  Each month will be a different Chakra starting with August being The Root Chakra.

Pagan 101- Face of Nature L. 2

Since we now have a general understanding of who we are, if we are going to be nature followers, the first step is what is front of our eyes.  I won’t go on into the gods, goddess ,yet, of the seasons but to nature itself.   Knowledge, wisdom is power.   We are one with nature.

I’m going to skip and ahead to our weeks assignments, I feel from my studies the questions next starts out any witch in their journey.

  1. Watch the sunrise, periodically check through the day of the sun–make notes.
    • Are you more aware of the four directions?
    • Was there a difference energy at different times of the day?- why do you think so?
  2. Do the same of the above^^^^ on an overcast day.
    • Do you see or feel the difference?
  3. Make a windstock ( Bag)
    • Note down the way the winds blow and from which direction?
    • Is there a direction it blows more frequently?
    • Do warm and cold winds come from the same way?
  4. Weather is predicatable
    • Can you tell when its going to rain or snow
      • Jot down these^
  5. What lands around you can affect the weather?
    • Water
    • mountains etc
  6. Take a walk near you and note the plants that are around you
  7. Do you have plants or garden? Is it native?
  8. In your area, do you have deities or myths?

Now the funnest part of this weeks lesson.. Creating a moon phase journal.  Sure you can get the app or just goggle it. But to start your foundation and knowledge starting on your own is better. Get a notebook and capture the phases of the moon. Note the rise, the fall, the times, and directions.  This will help later.

This week is a little longer, so it wont be till the week after till the next lesson is posted. I know..I know..this lesson was boring BUT I assure you its worth every question. Don’t forget to subscribe to your email or follow!

The Wiccan Rede-Full verson

The Wiccan Rede
(Full Version)

Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,
let love and light be our guides again.

Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

When the Lady’s moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart’s desire seek.

Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.

Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God’s
insight.   Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady’s tree burn it not or cursed you’ll be.
Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it’s now Samhain.
When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.

In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it’s height time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.
Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you’ll be.

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you’ll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.

These Eight words the Rede fulfill:

“An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will”

The Law by Scott Cunningham

The Law of Power

1. The Power shall not be used to bring harm, to injure or to control others. But if the need arises, the Power shall be used to protect your life or the lives of others.

2. The Power is used only as need dictates.

3. The Power can be used for your own gain; as long as by doing so you harm none.

4. It is unwise to accept money for the use of the Power, for it quickly controls its taker. Be not as those of other religions.

5. Use not the Power for prideful gain, for such cheapens the mysteries of Wicca and Magick.

6. Ever remember that the Power is a sacred gift of the Goddess and the God, and should never be misused or abused.

7. And this is the Law of the Power.

Part 2 To Finding You To Finding The Way

Welcome back to Pagan 101 with Sylph Moon.  This week is lesson 1 pt 2, it will be digging deeper into finding yourself.

We talked last week about our goods, our bad and how they come to be affecting our lives.  Today we dig that shovel into the deep roots of you, your morals, your ethics, and beliefs.

We need to know and understand why we believe or don’t believe in certain topics. For an example: Deforestation, meat eating, abortion, genetic engineering, separation of state and church. Anybody can have an opinion but to walk the pagan path requires us to think deep.    “It’s all well and good to say ” I don’t eat meat because it violates the Rede, which says Harm None.” But a thinking pagan will realize that vegetables are no less alive than animals. A thinking Pagan might come to the conclusion that perhaps the Rede is meant for the human social interaction, and means “harm no Humans.” Or a thinking pagan might consider that perhaps the Rede is not meant to be taken as a literally, since eating harms SOMETHING and not eating harms self. How it is viewed is determined by personal ethics and morals.” -Celeste Moondancer

Celeste put those words so perfect I couldn’t write anything better.

To really understand this lesson first step is to research the following words TRUE definition : Ethics, Moral

The Wiccan Rede is an ethical/moral guideline for living well. (The full Rede will be posted separate)   “An it harm none, do as you will.” or from those from a christian background Gods rule: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”

Read Scott Cunninghams “The Law” for some pagan morals and ethics.

Assignment

  • What do you like about yourself/ why?
  • What do you dislike about yourself/why?
  • Using the terms above, are you ethical, and moral? why?
  • Scott Cunningham says,” Harm None. This, the oldest law is not open for interpretation pr change”  Do you agree or disagree> why?  How is this an impossibility?
  • Are there any of his Laws that you disagree with, why?
  • What is your favorite law?
  • Does the Rede, the rule, and laws fit your morals/ethics? Help shape them?

Figuring Out Your Boundaries

To begin any new journey we have to begin at our roots. So what does that mean our roots?

Finding are roots are simple by looking at who you are what you stand for. We started last week with the first lesson, what we want.

This week we are going to dig a little deeper by finding our morals, standards, and lastly our own boundaries.

Watch out for Lesson #2 in the Pagan 101 series.
