A Journey Through Mystics

Part 2 To Finding You To Finding The Way

Welcome back to Pagan 101 with Sylph Moon.  This week is lesson 1 pt 2, it will be digging deeper into finding yourself.

We talked last week about our goods, our bad and how they come to be affecting our lives.  Today we dig that shovel into the deep roots of you, your morals, your ethics, and beliefs.

We need to know and understand why we believe or don’t believe in certain topics. For an example: Deforestation, meat eating, abortion, genetic engineering, separation of state and church. Anybody can have an opinion but to walk the pagan path requires us to think deep.    “It’s all well and good to say ” I don’t eat meat because it violates the Rede, which says Harm None.” But a thinking pagan will realize that vegetables are no less alive than animals. A thinking Pagan might come to the conclusion that perhaps the Rede is meant for the human social interaction, and means “harm no Humans.” Or a thinking pagan might consider that perhaps the Rede is not meant to be taken as a literally, since eating harms SOMETHING and not eating harms self. How it is viewed is determined by personal ethics and morals.” -Celeste Moondancer

Celeste put those words so perfect I couldn’t write anything better.

To really understand this lesson first step is to research the following words TRUE definition : Ethics, Moral

The Wiccan Rede is an ethical/moral guideline for living well. (The full Rede will be posted separate)   “An it harm none, do as you will.” or from those from a christian background Gods rule: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”

Read Scott Cunninghams “The Law” for some pagan morals and ethics.

  • What do you dislike about yourself/why?
