Figuring Out Your Boundaries

To begin any new journey we have to begin at our roots. So what does that mean our roots?

Finding are roots are simple by looking at who you are what you stand for. We started last week with the first lesson, what we want.

This week we are going to dig a little deeper by finding our morals, standards, and lastly our own boundaries.

Watch out for Lesson #2 in the Pagan 101 series.

The Charge Of The Goddess

The Charge of The Goddess

Doreen Valiente

Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess
The dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven
She whose body encircles the universe.
I am the beauty of the green earth
And the white moon amongst the stars
And the mystery of the waters
And the desire in human hearts
Call unto your soul
Arise and come unto me
For I am the soul of nature
Who gives life to the universe
From me all things proceed
And unto me all things must return
Before my face, beloved of all
Let your divine innermost self be enfolded
In the rapture of the infinite
Let my worship be in the heart that rejoices
For behold, all acts of love and pleasure
Are my rituals
And therefore, let there be beauty
And strength and power
And compassion
Honor and pride
Mirth and reverence
Within you
And you who think to seek for me
Know your seeking and yearning
Shall avail you not, lest you know the mystery
That if you seek me and find me not within you
You will never find me without
For behold, I have been with you from the beginning
And I am with you endlessly …

Who are you? Pagan 1o1 LS 1

Who are you? What do you stand for?

Our first lesson is about finding ourselves by looking in to our foundation of who we are and what we believe in.  One of my firm beliefs is that for you to know your path you must know yourself.

When we are asked to list the “good or bad” of ourselves, most of us have long list of negative things. 90%  of those things are not true or real.  Sometimes our good habits or attributes are what makes the bad and vi versa.  Our first step is accepting that we aren’t perfect and acknowledging that the bad is here to stay but we can use it to make ourselves better from it.

How does this go with paganism? witchcraft?  To know yourself truly, we will not be posers or wannabees for any religion, but real. Being true to yourself of who you are allows us to see where us and the divine meet, where they split.  If we know ourselves, if we believe in ourselves and what we stand for, we can then interpret omens, divination, oracles better by knowing what is there, separate from how we feel.

Go and read the Charge of The Goddess (See my post), I assure you that there is a purpose to reading it.

  • For this lesson, write down your “good and your bad” habits/aspects.  Don’t try to fool yourself, be truthful in this. Take your time with this and really look at yourself.
  • For every good quality, tell yourself how it can be, or has been, a source of trouble in your life. For every bad quality, tell yourself how it can be or has been, of benefit of your life. (Don’t leave anyone of them out)
  • Ask yourself are you happy with your life? Why, why not? What would you need to be happy?

Till next time, love and light and blessed it be.

Turning Knowledge Into Wisdom

I have been lead to start a another series. This will help cover 13 basic topics of paganism. If you are new or brushing up, this will be a great way to do just those.         For this series my goal is to not only enlighten the word and community of pagan but to help others grow themselves.  Every lesson will have a activity for yourself to do afterwards. This is a way to have a physical and mental growth. So grab a notebook, a pen and follow me through this wonderful series.

If you are new here please come join us on this wonderful blog of all things spiritual.  Don’t forget to like, follow, and share to keep up with the light it shines.  I am always open to comments, new information (no one has all the knowledge), and questions.

Keep an eye out for the new series to come.

With love, light and peace.

Blessed it be.

New Piece: Neverland

Neverland was inspired by the magical love I have for fae (fairys). Drift wood given to me by a dear friend, crystal quartz non-processed from Arkansas. And of course, my tinker-bell inspired oil pendulum jar. The jar is to capture the positive energy through dreams and the recipient be able to take the energy with them every day.

Tips On Reading Your Cards

A couple things that was taught to me was:

  • Reversed card meanings don’t always mean negative
  • Aces can be a overview of the readings subject
  • All Arcana cards trump over the others
  • Your cards are not meant to only read one (unless yes or no)

When you do your layout the cards may move around. Let your intuitive energy guide you to read them. Every person has their own ‘tricks’ of reading their cards. You choose what works for you.

Beginners Tarot Layout-Tarot 101

There are so many layouts for reading and each one had their own special touch.  This layout will be a simple three card spread.

Past Present Future  or Context Focus Outcome

There isn’t a set way of reading the spread, each spread has a mind of it’s own. Don’t be shocked when your cards decide to read another way then you lay them.

Youtube Is Amazing

Just wanted to share a video of singing bowls based on the Chakras. Close your eyes, get comfy and just breath in the sounds. Think nothing but feel the energy of the sounds. [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCPoG3EGwVw]

First or New Deck- What do I do now?

If you missed the first post, welcome to Tarot 101-Gypsy Style.

First step is to clear your cards.  You’ll need a white candle, sage (if you have some) and your intentions.  **Tip bring your crystals out and lay them around you and your cards.

Find a sacred spot to lay your cards out allow. Light your candle and sage, with peace on mind-slowly run the sage of your cards (laid out). Think peace, clear thoughts, and cleansing while your run the sage over the cards.  If you have the crystals around you and the cards, feel them cleanse the cards. Imagine in your mind that the crystals are giving your cards a new life, giving them light in them.  Feel the calmness.  When you are ready blow out your candle and then you are ready for the next step.                                          Second step is to connect with your cards. If you just cleared your cards, this is a good opportunity to connect with your cards.   Lay them out, hold them, see them, feel them.  There are many ways to connect with your cards.  You will know how to best connect with them. Some of the ways I have connected with mine is to play with them, spend each day with one card. (yes 72-80 cards is a lot of days but your connection with each will be a strong bond)   Sleep with them next to you at night. I have heard some put them under the pillow once a week to regain connection.

Last-the third step- Learn your cards.  There are usually a book with each deck. Study it like its your bible. It will give you the insight and information you need.  However, don’t let the artist who made the cards  be your only vision of that card. Once you have connected with your cards you will be able to read them as you internally feel they mean.   IF you decide to read for others and not just yourself- learn what each set means.  Astrology, life, and other aspects will be able to help you give your person a better, deeper understanding of your reading.

*Find a way to wrap your cards to protect them.  -box, silk, material- whatever calls to you. This saves your cards for longevity, others energies, and darkness that surrounds us.

That’s it for now, any questions or comments please don’t hesitate to comment me or email me at the email provided. I am always up for conversation and love to help anyone I can gain a better understanding.

Tarot 101

I want to share a little deep insight on tarot reading.  Some things I am going to explore with you is how to handle them, how to read them, and tips/tricks of connecting with your deck.  Today is about how to pick your deck.

Are you a first time reader curious about tarot? Are you drawn to the world of mystics?

The tradition says that someone is to give you a deck but in the modern days finding your own can be just as wonderful. Where do you start? Where in the world do I find the right one? Which deck is right for me?

There is no right or wrong reason in the questions above. Here are some ideas to help you start your path.

Research the types of tarots, meditate on them, and find what calls to you.  Find your local mystic store or if you have a large book store (books a million carries a variety). Look at the colors, the art, the writing on the case, see what calls to you the most.Walk around with a couple decks that call to you in the store. See which one falls, or is the heaviest for you. The one that falls put back and then you’ll have your new deck.  Still can’t make a decision? Think about it for a couple days and come back.

You always have the option of going online for your deck. I personally like to hold, to connect first but everyone is different. My first teacher recommended the Rider-Waite deck for beginners. I have a mini Rider-Waite deck on hand. Even though it wasn’t my first deck it really is a good choice to have on hard or complicated readings. (will get into that on future post)

If you have a community store near you that does tarot classes, I highly recommend it.

—–ONLY YOU WILL KNOW WHICH IS RIGHT FOR YOU—–

Till next time* Namaste my friends.
